The WOW team kitted out with Moke Apparel for 2023

The WOW team are looking super stylish in WOW branded puffer vests and jackets this show season, thanks to a new partnership with Oamaru based fashion outerwear brand, Moke Apparel.

The vests and jackets by Moke Apparel will be worn by nearly 200 cast, crew and the WOW permanent team during the lead up to and across the 2023 show season in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington. They will also be utilised for WOW events when the team are in the public eye, to help extend WOW’s brand visibility.

Moke has shown incredible attention to detail in creating the bespoke puffer vests, right down to having a WOW logo embossed on the zippers! The exceptional quality of Moke’s products, the small-town success story parallel, and the company’s desire to be size-inclusive is what drew our attention to partner with Moke.

Moke was created a decade ago by Sarah Jennings and her father Keith Stevens. Over the years, the apparel business has gone from strength to strength. As the company has grown, so too has the team behind the seams. Joining the father and daughter has been another four family members, a further seven full and part timers; as well as friends who help on a casual basis when needed. All of Moke’s garments are designed in house, at its office located in the heart of Oamaru’s Victorian Precinct. All orders, whether for its New Zealand and Australian retailers; or its online orders that are sent around the world, are also all dispatched from there.

Initially with a strong presence in the retail tourism sector, the arrival of Covid saw the company quickly reassess its place in the market and change tack. Already having a presence in the ladies’ fashion sector but seeing a growing need for outerwear that was still fashionable and not so ‘outdoorsy’ in appearance, the focus fully moved to designing garments to suit a more fashion-conscious customer. The decision was also made for the brand to be as size-inclusive as it could be, with Moke proudly catering for sizes XS to 4XL.

“At the heart of the WOW Show is a story that started with a small but passionate team from small town New Zealand, with a vision to create something special. The Moke story is very similar and we couldn’t be prouder to partner with such an iconic New Zealand event,” says Mr Stevens.
